Toby Manzanares

Meet Coach "Manz"
Toby Manzanares teaches Physical Education at Rio Rancho High School, and just completed his 29th year as a Head Volleyball Coach, the last 19 years at        
RRHS. His overall record at Rio Rancho High School is 
298-145, winning 11 District 1-5A titles, and finishing as the New Mexico Class 5A State Runner-up in 2001, 2004, 2008 & 6A Runner-up in 2014. Coach “Manz” has coached the “Rams” to the New Mexico Class 5A State Championship six of his 19 seasons (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, & 2009). 

In addition to coaching the NMHSCA North All Star teams in 1994 & 2004, Coach Manzanares has been named "Coach of the Year" five times in two classifications, and was named the New Mexico High School Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" in 2005 and the Albuquerque-Metro Volleyball Coaches Association “Coach of the Year” in 2006. 

Toby "Manz" received the AVCA “Victory Club” Award reaching 400 victories as a head coach in 2013. The award was accepted in December at the AVCA Annual Convention in Seattle, WA. Coach "Manz" has an overall career record of 417-216

Coach Manzanares was recently inducted into the Rio Rancho High School Athletics Hall of Fame in October, 2014.
