U.S. News and World Report Best High Schools in the U.S.

Rio Rancho High and Cleveland High both ranked in the top 11 and earned silver medal status in the widely-reported annual U.S. News and World Report rankings of high schools nationwide.  The U.S. News rankings considered 211 high schools in New Mexico based on standardized test scores, performance of low-income and minority students, graduation rates, and college/career readiness measures such as performance on Advanced Placement exams.

Rio Rancho High was ranked 8th in the state and Cleveland High #11.  A third RRPS school, Rio Rancho Cyber Academy, was one of 29 schools earning bronze medal recognition based on standardized test results and graduation rates; the Cyber Academy does not offer Advanced Placement courses and was therefore ineligible for gold or silver medal status.  The results include charter schools as well as high schools within school districts.
