Snow Make Up Days, Credentialing Changes Announced

Three of Rio Rancho Public Schools’ previously-designated weather make-up days will become regular school days, as the district adjusts its 2011-12 calendar to account for days lost to inclement weather December 5-7. Students will attend classes on February 21, April 9, and May 24 to make up for the days lost to snow and icy road conditions.

The Rio Rancho Board of Education has also approved a change in the 2011-12 calendar affecting February credentialing days for middle and high school students. With this change, the parent conference/credentialing day for secondary school students will now be Friday, February 17 and students will not attend classes on the 17th. Thursday, February 16 will be a school day at middle and high schools and all students will be expected to be in class on the 16th. The elementary conference schedule did not change; February 16 and 17 at elementary schools are parent-teacher conference days and students do not attend classes.

There is a possibility that Friday, May 25 could become a weather make-up day if weather forces schools to close again this winter.

Mission: Rio Rancho Public Schools is dedicated to graduating each student with an educational foundation for success as a responsible, ethical contributor to society.
