School Reentry - RRHS
Posted on 08/01/2019
RRHS will be expanding safe in-person learning to full reentry on April 5, 2021 for those families who want to return to the school building.  If you are planning on returning to in-person learning, please note the following:
  • The bell schedule for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year will be changed to a seven (7) period day.  Students will have ten (10) minute passing periods giving staff the time needed to sanitize between classes and prepare for the next class.  Please print and keep a copy of the RRHS Bell Schedule_April 5th_Final.pdf

  • Please read and review the student handbook to familiarize yourself with attendance policies and the discipline matrix for both in-person and virtual learning. The dress code and other policies to ensure uninterrupted learning will be enforced.  Please refer to the RRHS 2020-2021 Handbook.pdf  for all school policies and procedures.

  • Per NMPED and NMDOH, masks must be worn at all times. Neck gaiters are not allowed.  Should you forget your mask, a disposable surgical style masks will be available.

  • When you arrive on campus, students will see directional arrows in each hallway, in the courtyard, and on sidewalks around campus. It is very important that all students follow the one-way flow of traffic as required in the NMPED school reentry requirements.

  • Temperature checks are no longer required for students.  However, should you wake up and feel ill or have a temperature, please remain at home and do not come to school.

  • RRHS will do the best we can to limit in person contact and exchange of paper. We ask that you log into your PowerSchool account, print your schedule and bring it with you on Monday morning, April 5th. If you do not have a printer, log into your PowerSchool account and take a screenshot of your schedule using your phone. As an alternative, write your schedule down on a piece of paper with the classroom location and number. Schedules will not be printed for you when you get on to campus.

  • Lockers are not available for use and will not be assigned to students. Students will be responsible for carrying their belongings, please plan accordingly.

  • Breakfast and lunch will be available each day in the cafeteria.  Lunch will also be available in the DECA store. NMPED and NMDOH recommend eating outside in open air spaces as much as possible.  However, should you choose to eat in the cafeteria limited seating will be available.  Seats which are unavailable to sit in will be marked with and “X”.

  • Students are responsible for bringing their Chromebook on a daily basis. There will be no Chromebooks assigned to students in the classroom.  Students must bring the Chromebook they checked out in the fall and used during virtual learning. Please remember to fully charge your Chromebook each day and bring your charging cord with you.

  • One set of restrooms per building will be open during the school day.  Restrooms in buildings whose staff and students are at lunch will be locked.  The student restrooms in the atrium will remain unlocked everyday, all day.  Every other stall/urinal will be marked off to encourage social distancing.

  • Students will not be required to dress out for PE

  • Academic Support is available for students who need it.  Please refer to RRHS Academic Support Sessions.pdf  for a list of content specific support sessions as well as the days and times those sessions are offered.  Some academic support sessions are offered during lunches, while others are offered after school, both in-person and virtually.
